If you use Gmail, keep reading.
Google has recently rolled out new “category tabs” for your Gmail inbox. These tabs auto-sort your email — so you could be missing important messages.
Below are two options for dealing with this, so you can continue to get the emails you want to receive in your inbox.
If you’re anything like me and you want complete control over what email gets sent to you, you can disable the new category tabs by doing this:
Click the little PLUS SIGN at the top right of your inbox — next to the tabs. See the screenshot right here:
Then, when the box pops up, uncheck all of the boxes except primary and click save. Then you’ll revert to the traditional, BETTER Gmail inbox.
If you want to keep these crazy tabs, but you’re worried about missing out on important emails (like this one), do this:
Step 1: Go to the Promotions Tab
Step 2: Find an Email from “Horizon Peak Consulting” in your inbox
Step 3: Drag that email into your Primary Inbox.
You’ll get an alert saying, “This conversation has been moved to Primary.” Do this for all email messages you want to appear in your inbox going forward.
