You manage the marketing for your company. Maybe you manage the marketing for several companies. You’ve been around the block. You know that not all content marketing works the same, and not all copywriters are alike.
You even know the important stats:
- 52% of B2B buyers view 2-4 pieces of content before making a decision
- 28% of B2B buyers view 5-7 pieces of content before making a decision
- Companies that blog get 55% more web traffic
You know that effective, conversion-focused content marketing produces a big bang for your buck.
What you might not know is where to find a copywriter who understands those same things.
Don’t worry. You found that copywriter.
I combine sales-focused copywriting with content creation to help IT, software and tech companies turn content into revenue.
What makes Horizon Peak different than your typical copywriting agency? A professional experience, for one. Around here, deadlines aren’t “suggestions.”
Most importantly, I focus on conversion. I’m not out to “kick your content in the pants.” I don’t prioritize creating “a beautiful content experience.” Those things may be end results, but my priority is helping you produce actual, quantifiable results from your marketing program.
“Jess is the most persuasive technical copy writer on the planet. Within the first 30 days, we could directly attribute $27,000 in new revenue to leads that came from the content she helped us write.
She has a deep knowledge of the IT industry and can take our jargon, technical speak and rough diamond ideas and polish the whole lot up into something that our audience actually enjoys reading.
She’s changed the content marketing game for our SaaS business — and best of all, she made it easy and fun.” —Millie Blackwell, president and co-founder of Showcase Workshop
It’s time to work with a pro who can:
* Boost your credibility as a company or thought leader
* Help your buyers understand your most complex offerings — and move them to buy
* Walk your prospects down the sales path with world-class content
Great content is not only an effective way to spread the word about your products and services, but that when it is done well, it can turn strangers into loyal customers.
The problem is that you just don’t have time or internal resources to produce truly great content.
You and your team are brilliant at what you do — but it takes a professional writer to help your customers understand what you do.
You need to, and should, focus on your zone of genius.
Hire a high-caliber, experienced copywriter to write the assets necessary to support your marketing program.
“An absolutely killer content creator, Jessica has mastered the art of long form. She’s not just a great writer. (But, yeah, she is that.) She’s also extraordinarily good at making complex subjects relatable, which is why her work in the tech space is second to none. Hire her. I do.” —Joanna Wiebe, co-founder of Copy Hackers and Airstory
Content should convert browsers into buyers. Creativity should come second to converting leads into sales.
I am laser-focused on conversion, and I make it a priority to stay up-to-date on all the most recent online marketing news and techniques.
I have a strong tech background, so I can understand the geek speak and translate it.
I don’t just stay inside my marketing-industry silo, though. I immerse myself in my clients’ industries as well.
I am the copywriter you hire for the long-run — the one who knows you, your business and your industry.
You Deserve More Than Just a Great Copywriter
When you hire me, you don’t just get an experienced, skilled B2B copywriter.
You also get responsive, organized, deadline-driven, detail-oriented resource who is focused on adding value to every project.

About Jessica Mehring,
CEO and Senior Copywriter
I started my career writing copy at a top creative agency, a catalog company and one of the biggest technology corporations in the world. Today I am the CEO and senior copywriter of Horizon Peak Consulting, the creator of The Content Lab, and an Amazon Kindle best-selling author.
I have written content for the most innovative startups, global technology corporations, and even Emmy Award-winning creative producers.
My archetype in The Fascinate System is “The Scholar.” I am relentless about improving my skills as a writer and marketer, and keeping up with the trends and ever-growing research behind successful content marketing.
My bachelors degree in history from the University of Colorado at Boulder (class of 2000) comes in handy today as I understand where my client’s business is coming from, evaluate where the business is presently, and assess where they need to go with the future of their content marketing in order to be successful in the new economy. I provide Horizon Peak clients with the outstanding content and copywriting they need to stand out in their industries and engage with their target customers.
I currently live on a mountain in Colorado Springs with my family, and spend way too much time chasing deer out of my yard.

Surprising fact about Jessica Mehring: I am a reformed jargon-hater. I was always taught that jargon was the mark of a weak writer, and that all it does is create a barrier between the business and its target audience. What I have discovered over almost two decades of being a professional writer, however, is that jargon has its place. When used in the right way, it can create an “insider vocabulary” that builds community around a business’s mission. BUT! It must be used judiciously, intentionally and very, very thoughtfully to be successful in this way.
The Story Behind the Horizon Peak Name
We all start out in business at the base of the mountain, looking up at the peak and wondering how we’ll ever get there.
We climb that mountain.
Pretty soon we’re standing on that peak, looking out at the horizon.
But we’re not done yet.
When you love what you do, reaching the top of that first peak is only the beginning.
I love working with businesses who are nearing or on top of that first peak. They’ve got that first climb, that first success, under their belt… and they’re itching for more. They’ve got the experience. They’re building their superstar business success team. The horizon is a beautiful view from the top of that first peak, but they’re gearing up for their next climb.
I am excited to see where that next climb will take you. Aren’t you?
